Schmitt Stix John Lucero

This kid Luke was the best skater at my middle school (grade 7 and 8) and he had this board. That guy was straight up awesome. Great skater. I ran into him years later in the mid 90's when I was doing my undergrad and he was so psyched I was still skating. Lucero did this graphic.

Tony Ferguson talks about Alife

Here's a new Tony Ferguson interview. I recently saw Chibber rocking these Alife shell toes, clearly inspired by old Vision Street Wears... the ones that Ray Barbee always wore back in the day. Stoked on them.

Tony pic from vert is dead.

SMA Natas Kaupas 2

For me, this is the most memorable of the SMA Natas cat graphics. IIRC, this was the mini model. Quite a few of the kids I grew up skating with had this one. For whatever reason, when I first started skating, I never had boards belonging to the awesome street skaters, or even the awesome vert skaters at the time. The first three or four pro model boards I owned are embarrassing. I challenge anyone to do worse than me!

1. Vision Ken Park
2. Vision Johnee Kop (don't even ask)
3. Vision Primo street model (wtf was I thinking?)
4. Schmitt Stix Reese Simpson (the snake model. This one was actually pretty decent.)

Jim Phillips was the artist and the graphic's from Disposable.

Vacation

I'm heading out on vacation for a few weeks. I'll be chillin' at the beach for a bit as well as hitting up NYC for several days. If anyone has suggestions for NYC, leave a message here or shoot me an email.

Stan Karbine - Stop Fakin'

Dude's got an excellent bs flip and the 360 flip over the small wall at 0:30 is awesome. Ender is ridiculous... I had no idea who this guy was prior to watching this video.

Diggin' in the Crates

I found this series of old Transworld scans here (eight entries so far), the acronym being DitC. Tonnes of gems over there. This shot of Colin McKay's switch krooks at hotspot with the burning building in the background, before anyone skated it... totally amazing. I believe Jody Morris took this photo.

SMA Natas Kaupas

I'm actually surprised, and embarrassed, that I haven't posted any SMA Natas cat graphics yet. This one is the first that I was familiar with. It seemed like a lot of the older skaters around town were skating it. Natas' part in Street on Fire was mind blowing... frontside wall rides, the hydrant spin, the rail slide on the truck. Wes Humpston was the artist and the graphic's from Disposable.

PGA Championship: It's a Wrap!

Thanks for coming out! Eldrick is up by 4 strokes going into Saturday in the last Major of the season. I'd be shocked if he doesn't win.

Kikkor Golf Shoes

I've touched on this in past posts. Several large corporations, including
Puma and Adidas, have made street style golf shoes geared toward the younger generation. Two smaller companies that have taken cues from skate shoes are Alias and Radioactive, the offerings of both IMO being underwhelming. Apparently there's another company entering the skate-shoe-style-golf-shoe arena called Kikkor, which is out of Abbotsford, BC and is owned by professional golfer James Lepp. Seeing as I'm just down Highway 1, hopefully I can get my hands on a pair fairly easily once they are released. Their two models look a lot better than anything Alias or Radioactive has put out. If I had to rock any of them, I'd go for the all black leather Eppik's. Link lifted from Triple Bogey.

ebay: Blind Jordan Richter

A Blind Jordan Richter condom instruction board has popped up on
ebay today. It's got quite a bit of scuffing but looks like it should display pretty good, although I'm not sure what kinda guy would want an illustration of a cock on their wall. Curious to see how much it will go for.

Interviews x 2

Two interviews with shredders from the past that abruptly dropped off the scene... Justin Case and Mike Graham.

Real Tommy Guerrero 49ers

TG's first pro model after leaving Powell to start Real Skateboards with Thiebaud. I skated lots of these as well as the hanging klansman. Graphic from Wheel Bite.

Forging

A cool video of Mizuno's forging process.
